This project is part of the LSP Ship Factory, which aims to develop novel approaches for executing construction, repairing and recycling operations of modular ship designs in a cell-based, central multi-purpose/multi-robot workspace. LSP Ship Factory thus enables shipyards to counter the pressure of a fierce global competition and a lack of workforce with innovative and manageable technologies for robotized production operations around the lifecycle of ships.
My research is mainly focused on the implementation of central shipbuilding tasks on the gantry system, by developing the programming and control of the gantry components as to enable a zero-programming cell-based workflow. For this, methods and tools for the combined programming of multiple robots resp. multiple TCPs in terms of safe, collision-free, coordinated trajectories will be developed.
I am looking forward to deepening my experiences with robots in construction and low volume production during this project.
